Animal portraits, imaginative human-animal pictures and spirit animal paintings

With my animal portraits and human portraits, everything starts with an inner image: I often have inspirations from "nothing" - and they then want to be realized. You can find out more about the process in the video - and see many examples of my art on this page:

Animal portraits Sonja Neuroth

Spirit animals

The spirit animal portraits are designed to encourage you to connect with your inner desires, strengths and talents. Animals carry such wonderful symbolism and each animal has a different message.

I don't see the term "spirit animals" in a narrow, shamanic sense, but rather that we can simply be inspired by animals. This means that if you repeatedly encounter an animal or have a particular fascination for it, it is worth asking yourself what this animal means to you individually and what qualities it reminds you of that you perhaps carry within yourself.

My spirit animal paintings connect you with this symbolic power and are designed so that you can draw meaning from them for yourself. But also a Set of spirit animal cards in which I link possible interpretations and messages of individual spirit animals with my paintings.

Collection: Alchemy

"Alchemy" unites opposites, such as contrasting states, seasons or symbols, each in one picture. Through the contrast, I want to give you the message: There is always more than just "black" OR "white". Everything exists side by side and it is always your choice what you focus on.

Turn pain into strength, hopelessness into confidence and excessive demands into clarity. The female figures and animals depicted in the picture remind you to become your own inner alchemist. You already have within you exactly what you need right now.

Collection: Mythology

"Mythology" revives old legends of gods and heroes and gives them a new lease of life. Because the myths are still alive today. In you, in us and in society.

I want to inspire you to find your own superpowers instead of just attributing them to the heroes and gods of the past. I combine the goddesses and heroines that I paint together with spirit animals with modern elements such as spray paint / graffiti style, collage and colorful ink to make them more tangible as symbols for people today.

The oil paints I use in my art also help to give the figures a lively character, which here and there almost looks as if they are coming out of the canvas and inviting you into their magical world.

"Many thanks to Sonja for the beautiful picture of our two deceased cats Venus and Luna. I am really delighted with the high quality of the print, how beautifully the colors come out, how securely the prints were packaged and how quickly the picture arrived. Absolutely recommendable."

"I am always simply amazed by Sonja's creativity. I love her spirit animal pictures and everything else she creates with so much love. I find it particularly beautiful that Sonja also paints our pets so wonderfully, especially the deceased ones. She has also embellished my drums, as you can see here. The picture with the little gerbil is my Paulchen, which she painted for me based on a photo. Many of the motifs Sonja has painted are also available on mugs or as cushion covers. Always nice to give as a gift, I think. I haven't yet mentioned that I can highly recommend Sonja as a coach ;-) Here too, with her empathetic nature and her incredible awareness, she is simply a great contribution, for us humans and also for the animals."
