You define your own worth. Allow yourself to play more and to know that nothing about you is wrong.
Goddess Bastet's meaning: Be whoever you wish to be
Do you sometimes feel confined or trapped in a role that no longer truly fits you?
Have you, in the past, often made your happiness, joy, and sense of self-worth dependent on others—on whether they gave you attention and truly saw you or not? Maybe you've been wanting to free yourself from that completely for a while now. Or perhaps your life, in one area or as a whole, currently feels too “small,” monotonous, or dull?
The Egyptian goddess Bastet is closely associated with cats and thus also embodies the typical energies we associate with them.
On one hand, she was the protector of the household in ancient Egypt—just like cats, who kept homes free of pests. On the other hand, she stands for self-determination, confidence, self-trust, and playful lightness. She invites you to enjoy your life even more and, like a cat, to know that you will always get what you desire—sooner or later.
Allow yourself to step into the feeling of being like a cat that knows it is unconditionally loved, no matter what it does—or doesn’t do.
And perhaps this card is also an invitation for you to try out different roles and take life a little less seriously. If you find yourself clinging too tightly to a situation or wanting something too much, Bastet encourages you to take a more relaxed approach and tell yourself: “No matter how this turns out for me, it will always be exactly right. I can trust in my self-worth, and I know that only good things come my way.”
The message and the image on this card are based on my original oil painting "Goddess Bastet" from the "Mythology" series. If you like the message and image, you have the opportunity to bring them permanently into your everyday life - either as a painting or on various everyday objects:
This is just an excerpt from the meaning of the card. You can find even more text and ideas for implementing the message in your everyday life in the book accompanying the cards (available soon).
