Courage arises when you are willing to leave suffering behind and open yourself to the joy of life.
Goddess Inanna's meaning: You are the hero of your own life
The Sumerian goddess Inanna is one of the oldest deities in world history and traditionally embodies many different meanings. She also represents a sense of duality, as she stands for both beauty and power, devotion and determination.
Her spirit animal is the lion, and in the context of this card, Inanna invites you to courageously face all aspects of your life and to no longer be afraid.
What if you realized that all the so-called monsters in your life were merely creations of your own mind? And that there was never a ghost under your bed—but rather a fear of your own greatness? Maybe your mind has told you many “scary stories.” But eventually, there comes a point when you realize that you are not your mind—that your consciousness is far greater than any story, and that you have the power to change any narrative—through a new awareness of yourself and who you truly are.
Inanna embodies your state of being when you’ve realized that there is nothing and no one that can intimidate you or hold more power in your life than you do. Understand that you hold the ultimate power in deciding what meaning you give to the things in your life.
Perhaps your life resembles Inanna’s in some way, and you’ve already walked through many trials, challenges, or even difficult situations. But take a look at where you are now. Aren’t you much stronger than ever before? You have handled everything in your own unique way. Acknowledge that you can always find the solution within yourself and that your true strength was born from your life experiences. Strength does not always mean physical force or having everything go perfectly. A victory can also mean that you have grown on the inside.
The message and the image on this card are based on my original oil painting "Inanna & The Lion" from the "Mythology" series. If you like the message and image, you have the opportunity to bring them permanently into your everyday life - either as a painting or on various everyday objects:
This is just an excerpt from the meaning of the card. You can find even more text and ideas for implementing the message in your everyday life in the book accompanying the cards (available soon).
