The greek goddess Athena in a modern style on canvas<\/h2>\n

Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom, strategic thinking and battle. She is often depicted with an owl, which I have also used in my picture. In this day and age, she could be a reminder to you that you too have wisdom and astute perception within you.<\/p>\n

Stop fighting against yourself and start becoming your own best friend instead. I have brought the modern aspect into this ancient symbol by using spray paint and only symbolically suggesting Athena's shield with lines. Maybe you are fighting your own personal battle in life and things are sometimes harder than you thought... Athena wants to remind you that there is always a solution.<\/p>\n

The painting is part of my Mythology series<\/a>in which I paint figures from ancient legends and myths in a modern setting. I do this deliberately because I want to remind you that there are superpowers in all of us and that the heroes, gods etc. are only a symbol of this. The old legends still live on - even in you! But we can interpret them in a modern way.<\/p>\n

This painting is done in many layers with acrylics and oils.<\/p>\n
