The Celtic goddess Morrigan in a modern style on canvas<\/h2>\n

Morrigan is the Celtic goddess of change and transformation, of magic and war. She helps you to be at ease with the transience of things and to use the changes in nature and life in general to your advantage instead of fighting against them. It also helps you to face life's challenges more easily instead of fleeing from them - a message that is timeless.<\/p>\n

The picture is part of my series Mythology<\/a>in which I paint figures from ancient legends and myths in a modern setting. I do this deliberately because I want to remind you that there are superpowers in all of us and that the heroes, gods etc. are only a symbol of this. The old legends still live on - even in you! But we can interpret them in a modern way.<\/p>\n

In this painting, the modern elements are integrated using spray paint. Morrigan's sword is also only indicated with lines, which stands for the fact that everyone has their own individual sword - in this day and age a symbol for what you personally feel is true and worth striving for.<\/p>\n

This painting is done in many layers with acrylics and oils.<\/p>\n
