The greek goddess Hecate in a modern sytle on canvas (Mixed Media)

The Greek goddess Hecate is the goddess of magic and witchcraft as well as the power of the subconscious. She stands for making your choices wisely, as she guards certain forks in the road with her dogs. Be aware of what your decisions can trigger and what programs are guiding you in your subconscious!

The picture is part of my series Mythologyin which I paint figures from ancient legends and myths in a modern setting. I do this deliberately because I want to remind you that there are superpowers in all of us and that the heroes, gods etc. are only a symbol of this. The old legends still live on - even in you! But we can interpret them in a modern way.

In this picture, I have depicted the goddess Hecate with her two dogs, who represent your intuition and your powers of perception. I deliberately created the picture on a black background, as this reflects the mystical side of Hecate and the subconscious. On the black background, the spray paints used appear even brighter and more "magical".

This painting is done in many layers with spray paint, structure paste, acrylics and oils.
