The Sphynx cat came to mind when I thought of the saying \"You need to grow a thick skin\" - a saying you may have heard before about how you're supposedly too sensitive and should toughen up or become more jaded. But do you always have to build a protective wall, of whatever kind, around yourself? And is it even a disadvantage to perceive things differently to other people? This picture is about embracing your difference in how you perceive things in your life and even seeing it as a strength. What if your sensitivity is actually your greatest strength?<\/p>\n

This painting is from my Spells\" series<\/a>in which I transform a positive core message into a magic spell. This is integrated into the picture in the form of a sigil symbol. I designed the symbol for the respective motif and it is based on the wording of the spell, which is written in English. The exact wording of the spell is only given to the buyer of the original painting, as I have written it on the back of the canvas. However, I have indicated the subject of the respective spell in the title of the painting.<\/p>\n
