Goddess Nikkal with Gazelle: Fertility, Harvest & Creativity (Mixed Media Oil Painting)<\/h2>\n

The oriental goddess Nikkal represents fertility and harvest in a calm, gentle way. In today's world, she can be a symbol of trusting one's own path in life. What has long been planted within you is allowed to sprout like seeds \u2013 and you can trust that you are precisely the person you always wanted to be. For what belongs to you can never be separated from you.<\/p>\n

I portrayed the goddess Nikkal with partially deep red skin, which represents her connection to the earth and emphasizes the theme of \u201efertility.\u201c The figs, the pomegranate, and also the gazelle are symbols traditionally attributed to Nikkal, and therefore could not be missing in this painting.<\/p>\n

In my series Essence, I portray well-known goddesses from various cultures and place them in a modern context: These symbols are timeless and remind you of what always is: Your true essence, your power. Unlike in my series Mythology<\/a> in this series I also consciously abstract the goddess figures themselves a bit, by only rendering them partially realistically. This emphasizes their symbolic character and invites you to bring your own interpretation into the respective image.<\/p>\n

The painting was created in multiple layers using collage, acrylic and oil paints, texture paste, and gold paint.<\/p>\n
