Goddess Mokosh with sheep: Take your destiny into your own hands (mixed media oil painting)<\/h2>\n

The Slavic goddess Mokosh stands for the protection of the home and especially of women. At the same time, she is a goddess of \u201efate.\u201c In a modern context, this can mean that she invites you to shape your life actively and self-determinedly. The golden threads in the background are a symbol of this message. Mokosh is often also depicted with a spindle, but in my image, I wanted to leave more room for interpretation.<\/p>\n

The sheep accompany the goddess Mokosh as a symbol of unity and protection.<\/p>\n

In my series Essence, I portray well-known goddesses from various cultures and place them in a modern context: These symbols are timeless and remind you of what always is: Your true essence, your power. Unlike in my series Mythology<\/a> in this series I also consciously abstract the goddess figures themselves a bit, by only rendering them partially realistically. This emphasizes their symbolic character and invites you to bring your own interpretation into the respective image.<\/p>\n

The painting was created in multiple layers using collage, acrylic and oil paints, texture paste, and gold paint.<\/p>\n
