Habit and freedom are two states that can oppose each other.
Where have you built a golden cage for yourself? Through habits, relationships or thought patterns? Something that may once have done you good, but no longer does. A situation that you are afraid to leave because the unknown awaits behind it.
This painting wants to remind you that you are free to do anything. All it takes for you to live your freedom is to look at which habits are currently holding you captive and which ones you can perhaps let go of. The canary in the indicated cage, the door of which has long been open, reminds you that all you have to do is fly and then you can glide through the air as freely as a bird. Perhaps a new version of yourself is already waiting for you, ready to fly to freedom.
"The alchemy of habit and freedom" is an image from my Alchemy seriesin which I unite opposites and different states in one painting.
The painting was created in several layers with acrylic and oil paints. You have the choice of ordering the original painting (50×60 cm on canvas) or an art print (also 50×60 cm on canvas, will be printed after ordering). Of course, only the original painting has the unique radiance that the oil paints bring with them. The print may differ in color from the original.
Note: The art print on paper is 45x60xm, i.e. slightly narrower. Here the "orange blob" is missing from the left part of the picture.

Original painting or art print? You decide
Here you can see a direct comparison of an art print vs. the original, both on canvas. Elements made of a special material, such as textured paste or gold leaf, can of course look different and less vivid in the art print. The canvases of the art prints contain a small amount of polyester and are therefore harder than "real" art canvases. However, the other finishes are very similar to the original.
All canvases have either an enclosed metal hanger (the art prints) or a picture wire attached by me (originals) so that the pictures can easily be hung directly on a nail on the wall.
The fine art prints on paper come unframed, as it is my experience that the taste for picture frames is very individual and they should match the interior. However, if you would like to receive your fine art paper print framed, please contact me instead of booking here via the store. Then I can give you the prices for already framed pictures and order them manually according to your wishes.
