Pele is described as a spirited and powerful goddess, capable of destroying land through lava flows while creating new fertile land.
Many legends tell of Pele's travels in search of a suitable home. In the process, she often encountered obstacles, rival gods and her own passion, which sometimes degenerated into anger and jealousy. These stories illustrate how Pele not only shapes the outer landscape, but also embodies inner processes of transformation.
Destruction and renewal: the dual nature of Pele

In my painting "Pele and the bird", I have tried to capture this powerful symbolism of Pele artistically. The background shows a volcano that is spewing fire - a symbol of Pele's destructive power, which at the same time creates space for renewal.
In front of the volcano, I have integrated a lot of green, which stands for healing and new growth. I have indicated these healing aspects of Pele with green spray paint, which brings a modern touch to the picture. A Hawaiian bird in bright red sits on Pele's shoulder, a symbol of the connection with nature and the cycle of life.
Particularly noteworthy are the golden accents in my picture, which symbolize the refinement process. They stand for the fact that transformation not only changes you, but also lifts you to a higher level - if you are prepared to embrace it.
It is also intended to be an encouragement for all those who are currently experiencing many unexpected changes and want to be inspired to see this positively and powerfully instead of despairing.
