Your individual art work: mirror for your identity
An individual piece of art is more than just an image. It is an expression of who you truly are. I create paintings, embellishments for accessories, and illustrations that make your identity and uniqueness visible—whether for yourself or for your business. These statement pieces communicate without words, yet still say so much. I create paintings, embellishments for accessories, and illustrations that make your identity and uniqueness visible – for yourself or for your business. These statement pieces communicate without words, yet say so much.
Each work is created intuitively, combining artistic depth with symbolic meaning to form a one-of-a-kind piece that accompanies and inspires you in your everyday life.
An individual art piece for you
Do you want a custom piece of art that truly reflects you? The version of you that is at your biggest, freest self?
Such a piece is not only a statement to the outside world, but above all a reminder for yourself: it is a symbol of your true greatness—one that knows no doubt—and a permission slip to never lose sight of your desires, goals, and dreams. More than that: to bring them into the present moment.
Paintings work with symbols that go far deeper than words ever could. A single symbol can express more than a thousand words—especially when that symbol and the words within the artwork hold personal meaning for you. That’s why I don’t just use diverse and individual color palettes in my work, but also incorporate symbols that resonate with you on a personal level. For my collectors, these are often animals, plants, and—if desired—people who can represent the owner of the piece.
During my first 10 years as an artist, I focused almost exclusively on painting animals, including many pet portraits. So if you would like to have your pet captured in my style, with its unique character, that is absolutely possible as well.
Are you looking for a powerful statement piece for your home, or would you rather carry your statement out into the world with you every day? I create both mixed media paintings as wall art and custom-painted objects such as handbags and shoes.
Each painting—like all of my original works—is accompanied by a personal, handwritten message created just for you.
Please also note my Procedure for commissioned works.
Hand-painted accessories as individual artworks
You can also commission identity pieces on purses, boots or shamanic drums. Or what about an elegant Fineline tattoo in a floral style on your boots or bag?
An individual artwork for your business / corporate rooms
Spaces have an impact—and art can intentionally amplify that effect. How do you want your clients and business partners to feel when they come into contact with your brand? Create your own world through your brand—one that is recognizable and builds trust. I’d love to support your vision with my artwork.
I create custom pieces for practices, coaching spaces, studios, and business environments that go beyond aesthetics—they make the identity and values of your brand visible. Each piece is created in my signature style, while being guided by the values, symbols, and colors that reflect your business identity.

Here, for example, I created a painting for a coaching practice based on its brand identity, and also designed a logo and additional visuals for the brand.
Logo Design & Visual Identity with Artistic Depth
Your brand is more than a logo. It's a feeling, a message, its own world. Your brand is more than just a logo. It’s a feeling, a message, an entire world of its own. I create logos and illustrations that capture exactly that and make it visible. By combining artistic design with an intuitive understanding of your brand, I develop a visual identity that stands out clearly from the crowd.
If needed, we can first work on your brand identity itself and refine its core message—because the clearer it is, the more precisely the visuals can be developed.
Perfect for you if you’re looking for an authentic and expressive brand presence that truly reflects who you are.
Commission your individual artwork - How to
Depending on the commissioned work, the collaboration is slightly different and I need different information from you.
If you are interested in paintings on canvas or paper please start by filling out my Questionnaire with the wishes and ideas for your commissioned picture After I review your answers, I will provide a detailed offer including the price for your project. You are, of course, free to accept it or not. Prices depend on the size of the work and the complexity (for example, an abstract piece is less complex than a portrait).
For logo design or the painting of bags, shoes, and drums, I offer fixed-price options in my shop, which I have linked here on this page. There you will also find more information and the option to book your commission directly.
The general process for my commissioned works is as follows:

Feedback of a customer about her individual artworks
Romana ordered several paintings for herself, her family and her business. Her son also chose a painting for himself. What she says about the experience:
Sonja has a wonderful gift. I can hardly describe it in words, you have to experience it. I commissioned my first 3 pictures without knowing her personally. Whether the personal spirit animal, the one for my relationship or the one for my business. They were beautiful messages and beautiful pictures.
I also had a deep desire to have Sonja paint her spirit animal for the birth of our daughter in 2022. The picture now hangs above her bed and the elephant accompanies her on her journey.
My dog Ronja was also to be painted and is of course one of my personal spirit animals. She's kind of the boss, as you can see from the picture😂
My middle son was also fascinated by my pictures and promptly wanted one of his own. The pictures are beautiful and powerful. When visitors come, they always like to marvel at them.😍The peacock accompanied us at our wedding 🦚 We were also able to have this painted by Sonja at our celebration! I am simply thrilled with your gift, dear Sonja🙏🏻❤️😘

The style for your commission artwork
All my works are unique and carefully tailored to the respective client. With my All of my works are one-of-a-kind and carefully tailored to each client. For my paintings on canvas and paper, I primarily work in abstract realism—meaning that realistic elements, usually in the figures, flow seamlessly into abstraction or are complemented by an abstract background. On request, purely abstract works without any figures can also be commissioned. I mostly paint in abstract realism – this means that (mostly with the figures) realistic elements are present, which seamlessly transition into abstraction or are complemented by an abstract background. However, upon request, you can also commission purely abstract works that do not depict any figures at all.
Although I usually plan my pieces in advance—and provide you with a rough sketch of the composition and colors for your commission—each painting still contains surprising moments that emerge during the painting process. For abstract areas, I work with materials like spray paint and ink, which cannot always be fully controlled. But that’s exactly the beauty of it: the art is created in the moment. You can expect that the final painting will follow the sketch closely and correspond to it in large parts, while also including additional elements that emerge organically.
My Paintings create their own layered worlds. The figures I use are always symbolic. If you want a painting that represents you personally, I won’t create a literal portrait (experience has shown that people often don’t want a direct self-portrait displayed at home). Instead, I choose symbols that reflect you. You are welcome to help select these: Do you want a specific animal in your painting? Should it feature a female figure, or a woman with an animal? Plants or mushrooms can also be integrated into the piece.
If you’d like a portrait of your pet, I’m happy to paint it from a photo reference. In this case, we’ll decide together how realistic it should be, or whether certain elements should be abstracted or transformed—for example, colorful fur, or your pet depicted as a superhero, a tarot card, or with other illustrative elements. I’m also very open to styles that show your pet in a cute, imaginative, or “supernatural” setting—always portrayed with dignity. I can also create portraits of pets who have passed away, as long as you have photos of your companion to use as references. Here are examples of different approaches for pet portraits: Pet portraits If you'd like, I'd be happy to paint it for you based on a photo. In that case, we'll agree on how true to the original it should be, or if elements should be abstracted or changed – e.g., colorful fur or your pet depicted as a superhero, a tarot card, or other illustrative elements. I'm very open to styles that show your pet in a cute way in a „supernatural“/whimsical setting (always depicted with dignity, of course). I also paint portraits of deceased pets if you have photos of your animal companion to use as a reference. Here you can find examples of different variations for pet portraits:
At my Logos and illustrations For my logos and illustrations, I work in a warm, approachable style—perfect for people who want their project or business to convey a sense of closeness and individuality to potential clients. My logos are not minimalist, but they are always carefully tailored to the unique characteristics of each business. Especially during logo development, I work closely with you to ensure that the shapes, symbols, and colors align perfectly with your brand.
Just tell me what you have in mind for your commission, and I’ll provide feedback on how it can be realized stylistically.
Questions & answers for your art commission (FAQ)
On my website and in my Online portfolio you’ll already find many examples of my work to help you see if my style resonates with you. The rest involves a bit of “letting go,” because art isn’t mathematics—it’s driven by inspiration and creativity.
For each commissioned work, I intuitively tune in to the client and you can trust that your work will suit you exactly!
There are, however, steps we can take to ensure the final result matches your wishes: the clearer you are about your ideas before I start painting, the easier it is for me to adjust and to guide you on what is possible. To do this, you’ll first fill out a questionnaire with your preferences.
I also typically create digital sketches of the composition, which I’ll send to you before starting the final piece. This way, you can provide feedback, and I won’t begin the actual painting or logo until we agree on the sketch. Of course, you can skip this step if you’d like to be surprised—but in that case, you’ll be trusting me entirely to make it right.
Please note that commissioned works cannot be exchanged, as they are created exclusively for you. More details on this can be found in my GTC.
You are welcome to make requests on the following points, which I will take into account as far as possible:
- Colors
- A "theme" for the picture (e.g.: do you prefer an abstract background or certain elements such as jungle, beach, mountains ...?)
- If I incorporate a special animal or other symbols that are important for you
- The material / medium fpr the painting: on paper or canvas?
Which is definitely NOT possible:
- If you show me another artist's work that you want me to copy in whole or in part (in terms of style). Every artist has their own style and you will always get an end result in my style
- Motifs that have a copyright (characters from films / cartoons etc.)
At the moment, I only offer pet portraits based on photo references. In these, I do my best to depict the animal as faithfully as possible. However, my style is not “hyperrealistic,” so not every hair will match the photo exactly. In my art, I focus primarily on emotion, inner strength, and the bond between human and animal—rather than on creating a perfectly photographic likeness.
The quality of the photos you provide is also very important: I paint what I see in the image. This means that if the lighting in the photo slightly alters the color of the fur, or if your pet has distinctive features that aren’t visible in the photo, the painted result won’t look exactly “as in real life.” You are welcome to provide multiple photos, and I’ll choose one as the main reference for the pose. Photos that are too low in quality (pixelated, poorly lit, or where the pet is only in the background) cannot be used as references. We will discuss individually what I need and how we can bring your custom painting to life.
Waiting times always vary slightly and I can give you more details if you ask before you book. We will be in contact anyway if you tell me your wishes for the realization of your picture.
The waiting times are usually not long! And you will hear from me from time to time in the meantime, for example when I send you the sketch and wait for your feedback. I'll also be happy to send you photos of the interim status. The only important thing is that if I need feedback on the sketch, I can only start on the actual painting once you have replied and we have agreed on the sketch. This can shorten or lengthen your waiting time.
The information or materials I need from you will vary depending on the job. For example: If I am to paint your bag, I will of course need the bag; if I am to paint your pet, I will need at least one good photo as a template. If the commission is for your business, I need some information about your brand.
For each type of commission, I have a form for you to fill out so I can gather the necessary information. If I need anything beyond that, I’ll reach out to you.
What generally always helps me are details about colors (which ones you would like to have or at least which ones you would NOT like to have) and if you particularly like a style of my previous pictures, an indication of the picture it should be based on. If the picture is for a particular occasion or is to be hung in a particular room, I would also be happy to receive details (if it is intended for a particular corner and is to be based on the furniture or colors in the room, please also include a photo of it).
For pet photos to be used as references, try to choose poses you want featured in the painting. The photo should be clear, high-resolution (a smartphone photo is usually sufficient), and the pet should be clearly visible. I will provide feedback if something isn’t suitable.
Don't worry! I'm happy to cater to my clients' wishes when it comes to commissioned works - but if you have fewer requirements, that's fine too. In this case, you give me free rein to paint something that intuitively suits you.
But it also helps if you tell me your favorite colors, or colors that fit into your home and that the painting should have - or if you tell me pictures from my previous works whose style you like and on which it should be based.
If you are unsure which of the variants and options could be suitable for a commissioned work, please contact me so that we can go through the options for you and I can make suggestions.
