Some of my paintings are also available as art prints, where an image of the original painting is reproduced, for example on paper or canvas. Some prints have open editions and can be reproduced and purchased as often as desired, while others are limited editions, restricted to a small number of copies (this is indicated in the respective product description) and are often further refined by me by hand, for example with individually added gold highlights.
Art prints are a wonderful way to immerse yourself in my artistic world and get to know my work—especially if you don’t yet own any original art. I have to be honest: once someone experiences and appreciates original paintings, they usually don’t want to hang prints anymore.
Since I work with mixed media techniques, a variety of materials, and often many layers, art prints can only ever be an approximation of the original. Not all details can be represented in a print the way they appear in the original painting—whether it’s texture paste, which can only be printed flat, the vibrant oil colors that give the original its depth, or gold highlights that make the original reflect and glow, which the print cannot replicate. An original painting always radiates more than a print, as every brushstroke is visually and tangibly present, allowing you to get lost in it for hours.
