The alchemy of fear and power: you are greater than you think
When we’re afraid of something, it’s usually not the thing itself that’s the real issue—it’s the story we’ve built around it.
Have you ever noticed how, in emergency situations or high-pressure moments, you suddenly were in your power and simply acted - because you knew that it was important now? You simply found a solution because you had no other choice. You may have had to overcome a fear to do so, but there may even have been enormous strength underneath: the strength to trust yourself and your solution strategies.
Maybe you’ve already experienced one or more moments in your life where you grew beyond your former limitations in this way.
But then there are also situations that are not even acute, yet we keep worrying about them in everyday life. Things like: “What if I lose my job? What if my partner leaves me?”
These are the thoughts that weaken you and keep you small in the long run. Our mind doesn’t show us these so-called worst-case scenarios to harm us, but to prepare us for any possibility. However, if your focus constantly goes to these situations and gives them too much attention, it can drain your energy and joy for life.
This card invites you to recognize, on the one hand, how many difficult situations in your life have already made you stronger. And on the other hand, to see if your mind is still showing you too many hypothetical negative scenarios about your future—ones you can now free yourself from.
What if the so-called monster under your bed is only there when you put it there? What if you no longer had to assume the worst, but instead were ready from now on to see the most beautiful things—and your strengths—in everything? […]
