Goddess Mawu's meaning: My inner power creates worlds
Mawu is the West African goddess of creation, known for uniting opposites and skillfully maintaining balance between them.
In creation (in life), everything exists simultaneously – but the art is not to let yourself be overwhelmed by it, but simply to acknowledge it all while remaining true to yourself.
Mawu balances powerful forces such as day and night, chaos and order, creation and destruction. In some stories, she is said to have created the Earth from clay—symbolic of your own creative power.
If clay represents your thoughts and imagination: What kind of world do you wish to shape from them? Recognize that you are always the source—the origin—of your individual reality.
So that your life can truly align with who you are, it’s essential for you to find your own sense of balance: between rest and action, mind and heart, desire and trust that what you want is already yours.
Don’t let your emotions overwhelm or control you—but don’t suppress them either. Mawu teaches you that you can acknowledge and feel everything that’s present without having to identify with it.
Thoughts and emotions are temporary. You may choose to fully experience them, but you don’t have to be imprisoned by them. In the next moment, something entirely new may enter your life.
And so you can give up control more and more, and see your dream life unfold naturally and effortlessly through you. The more you rest within yourself, the more you will perceive your life as a relaxing river, rather than a dangerous ocean. […]
