From space, the Earth looks incredibly small, and a human being is not even as large as a speck of dust. From the perspective of an ant, however, we humans seem like threatening giants.
Which of these perspectives is correct?
Each one is valid in its own way. There is no single truth, but many truths, depending on perspective.
If you are currently in a situation where you are not sure how to move forward, remember to take a different perspective than the one you’ve had so far.
If you are doubting yourself, your mind may be showing you Provide examples from the past where you seemingly failed and didn't accomplish something. However, there are surely at least as many counterexamples of situations that you have already mastered perfectly – no matter how small or large the success was at the time. Are you ready, now to see those as well, and not use only one (previous) perspective against yourself?
It’s similar when you are in a situation with several people, each holding a different opinion: each of them has a different perspective, which for that person might feel like “the whole truth.” But with a bit of distance, each perspective is just like a flashlight shining into a different corner of the room.
So, what could you do right now to get a bigger picture of your current situation? Let your mind offer you new evidence for alternative views of this situation, or talk with people and exchange perspectives to form a more complete picture.
By the way, you don't have to adopt every possible perspective as your new personal truth. You can register them and still choose your own personal perspective, asking yourself: What do I want in this situation, and which perspective would be good for me?
