Have your spirit animal, favorite animal or pet painted
Have your pet or very special soul animal painted from a photo - if you wish, together with you in an imaginative and unique style!
My commissioned works are designed in collaboration with you, in that you can bring in your photo templates or general wishes and we can also make sure that the work fits in well visually with your interior. In addition to a painting on canvas with acrylic or oil, I also offer you other materials and formats, including painting bags or digital drawings that you can use for printing on acrylic glass, mugs or T-shirts.
Have your spirit animal or pet painted - How a commission works
Depending on the commissioned work, the collaboration is slightly different and I need different information from you.
If you are interested in Pictures on canvas and digital paintingsplease first fill in my Questionnaire with the wishes and ideas for your commissioned picture After reading your answers, I can give you a concrete offer including a price for the realization of your project. Of course, you then have the choice of whether you want to accept it or not. The prices depend on the size of the work and the amount of work involved (an abstract work is less complex than a portrait based on a photo, etc.).
I have fixed prices for logo development and the painting of bags and drums and you can buy these directly here via the store (see offers further down the page).
The general process for my commissioned works is as follows:
Have your pet or spirit animal painted - what one of my customer says
Romana had her pet AND her spirit animals painted (for herself and her business) and also commissioned paintings for her children - and her son ordered his own. This is what she writes about the experience:
Sonja has a wonderful gift. I can hardly describe it in words, you have to experience it. I commissioned my first 3 pictures without knowing her personally. Whether the personal spirit animal, the one for my relationship or the one for my business. They were beautiful messages and beautiful pictures.
I also had a deep desire to have Sonja paint her spirit animal for the birth of our daughter in 2022. The picture now hangs above her bed and the elephant accompanies her on her journey.
My dog Ronja was also to be painted and is of course one of my personal spirit animals. She's kind of the boss, as you can see from the picture😂
My middle son was also fascinated by my pictures and promptly wanted one of his own. The pictures are beautiful and powerful. When visitors come, they always like to marvel at them.😍The peacock accompanied us at our wedding 🦚 We were also able to have this painted by Sonja at our celebration! I am simply thrilled with your gift, dear Sonja🙏🏻❤️😘

Have your spirit animal painted
Spirit animals symbolize an ability or strength that already lies within you and that you want to live out even more. This can also simply be an animal that currently fascinates you. I can paint your spirit animal for you if you already know it or simply want to have your special favorite animal on canvas - as well as if you don't know it yet. In the latter case, I will intuitively sense it for you, or it will reveal itself while I am painting it.
You can choose for your spirit animal painting whether it should be a "general" spirit animal or relate to a specific area of life such as partnership, business, etc. Some customers also order pictures as gifts for their children or partners. The spirit animal paintings are not only available as paintings on canvas, but you can also have it drawn digitally by me so that we can have it printed for you on canvas, acrylic glass or items such as mugs, T-shirts etc.. You also have the choice of having the animal depicted alone or together with you in an imaginative style.
Please also note my Procedure for commissioned works.
Have your pet painted
Would you like to see a whole new side to your animal friend or simply have a memento, perhaps of an animal that has already passed away? A pet portrait makes the character of your four-legged friend visible - even after death.
With me you can have your pet painted by sending me one or more pictures and, if necessary, your wishes for the color scheme and style (but you can also let yourself be completely surprised). For example, you can choose whether your pet should be painted lifelike or as a superhero. Please also note the general procedure for commissioned works.
In addition to acrylic paintings on canvas, I now paint a lot digitally - which has the advantage that you can have your animal painted and printed as a T-shirt or sweater design, on a mug or bag, for example.

A portrait of your pet WITH you is also possible.
Which style should it be?
I have different materials and techniques that I like to work with: Not only can you choose whether you would like a digital image (for printing on canvas, acrylic glass or even on T-shirts) or an "analog" painting on canvas - there are even more possibilities than that!
Should it be a more classic style with purely realistic elements, e.g. your animal painted in nature?
Or do you like it colorful and imaginative and love abstract elements and patterns with striking contrasts?
Depending on your wishes, I can paint a more classic (yet colorful) oil painting or incorporate abstract elements with a mixed media technique that can consist of collage, spray paint, markers, acrylic and oil paints.
And you can also choose whether you want your animal and/or yourself to be painted from a photo and "recognizable" or whether one or both of you should have a different shape (not everyone likes to have a picture of themselves hanging in the living room).
I've already had commissions in which people have wanted to appear in the painting - not in their everyday appearance, however, but alienated as a fantasy figure or simply another person. I have also had the opportunity to paint pets in a different form, e.g. domestic cats as wild cats and horses as zebras.
You can enter all these wishes in the form for commissioned work and also select your preferred style there. Here are examples for each style:
Hand-painted
You can also have your spirit animal or pet painted on other materials such as handbags or shamanic drums.
Illustrations
I also offer versatile illustrations, such as logo development or children's book illustrations. If you are interested in other projects in addition to those offered in my store, please contact me directly so that we can discuss your wishes and I can make you an individual offer.
Examples of my works
Questions & answers about spirit animal & pet painting (FAQ)
Here on my site and on my Instagram profile you will find many examples of my work, which you can use to determine whether you like my style. The rest is also a bit of "giving up control", because art is not math, but has a lot to do with inspiration and creativity.
For each commissioned work, I intuitively tune in to the client and you can trust that your work will suit you exactly!
Nevertheless, there are a few things we can do to ensure that the end result meets your wishes: the more clearly you express your wishes before I start painting, the easier it is for me to adapt to them and tell you what is possible and what is not.
In addition, I usually create digital sketches for the composition (for each of the offers, it is noted either in the offer text itself or in the "Guidelines for commissioned works" how many sketches are included), which I send you before I create the actual image. This way you can give feedback and I won't start on the actual image or logo until we agree on the sketch. Of course, you can also skip this step if you want to be surprised, but then you trust me completely that everything will fit so far.
Please note that it is not possible to exchange a commissioned work, as it was made just for you. You can find more about the topic in my GTC.
You are welcome to make requests on the following points, which I will take into account as far as possible:
- Colors
- A "theme" for the picture (e.g.: do you prefer an abstract background or certain elements such as jungle, beach, mountains ...?)
- Which spirit animal or favorite animal I should paint or how your animal should be depicted
- The material / medium for your picture: digital drawing and possibly already with print, painted on canvas, with acrylic or oil paints ...etc.
Which is definitely NOT possible:
- If you show me another artist's work that you want me to copy in whole or in part (in terms of style). Every artist has their own style and you will always get an end result in my style
- Motifs that have a copyright (characters from films / cartoons etc.)
I do what I can to depict you or your animal as faithfully as possible. However, my style is not "hyper-realistic", so that every pore is exactly as in the photo. In my art, I emphasize emotion and the expression of inner strength and connection between humans and animals rather than making everything look perfect and like a photo.
With digital painting, however, it is once again easier to orientate yourself very closely to the photo than with traditional painting. So my recommendation here would be: the closer you want your commissioned work to be based on the photo, the more I recommend booking a digital drawing and having it printed to a high quality (if you need help with this, I can commission the printing for you).
Waiting times always vary slightly and I can give you more details if you ask before you book. We will be in contact anyway if you tell me your wishes for the realization of your picture.
But the waiting times are usually not long! And you will hear from me from time to time in the meantime, e.g. when I send you the sketch and wait for your feedback. I'll also be happy to send you photos of the interim status. The only important thing is that if I need feedback on the sketch, I can only start on the actual painting once you have replied and we have agreed on the sketch. This can shorten or lengthen your waiting time.
The information or materials I need from you will vary depending on the job. For example: If I am to paint your bag, I will of course need the bag; if I am to paint your pet, I will need at least one good photo as a template. If, on the other hand, you want me to paint your pet or favorite animal, you don't have to provide me with a photo, as this is of course more optional.
If you click on the respective offer / "product" for the orders, you will find a button "Guide for commissioned works" on each of the pages, which summarizes for you what exactly is required.
What generally always helps me are details about colors (which ones you would like to have or at least which ones you would NOT like to have) and if you particularly like a style of my previous pictures, an indication of the picture it should be based on. If the picture is for a particular occasion or is to be hung in a particular room, I would also be happy to receive details (if it is intended for a particular corner and is to be based on the furniture or colors in the room, please also include a photo of it).
For photos of you or your pet that are to be used as a template, the following applies: If possible, choose poses that should also be in the picture. The photo should be clear and in high resolution (a photo from a smartphone is usually sufficient) and you or the animal should be clearly recognizable. If you want to be in the picture with your pet, you can send separate photos of the two of you - you don't have to be in the picture together on the template. However, I will give you feedback if something doesn't fit.
Don't worry! I'm happy to cater to my clients' wishes when it comes to commissioned works - but if you have fewer requirements, that's fine too. In this case, you give me free rein to paint something that intuitively suits you.
But it also helps if you tell me your favorite colors, or colors that fit into your home and that the picture should have - or if you tell me pictures from my previous works whose style you like and on which it should be based. If it is to be a picture based on a photo of you or your pet, I also need good quality photos that I can use as a guide.
If you are unsure which of the variants and options could be suitable for a commissioned work, please contact me so that we can go through the options for you and I can make suggestions.
