The alchemy of waking and dreaming (mixed media oil painting or art print)
You know that state between being awake and dreaming where you don't know exactly who you are, where you are and what is happening? The boundaries between sleeping and waking can sometimes become blurred as our consciousness drifts off into another world - or slowly awakens from sleep. This is where real magic can happen because your subconscious is more active and your analytical mind interferes less.
A state in which you can receive many ideas. In this picture, I wanted to visualize these two phases and dissolve the boundaries between them. The owl represents sleeping and the night, while the rooster stands for activity, wakefulness and the day.
"The alchemy of being awake and dreaming" is an image from my Alchemy seriesin which I unite opposites and different states in one painting.
This painting was created in several layers with acrylic and oil paints. You have the choice of ordering the original painting (50×60 cm on canvas) or an art print (also 50×60 cm on canvas, will be printed after ordering). Of course, only the original painting has the unique structure and radiance that the oil paints bring with them. The print may differ in color from the original. The golden color used at the end also only has its reflective character in the original
Note: The art print on fine art paper is 45×60 cm instead of 50×60 cm and the edges of the picture are slightly cut off (the art print on canvas, on the other hand, has exactly the same dimensions as the original).

Original painting or art print? You decide
Here you can see a direct comparison of an art print vs. the original, both on canvas. Elements made of a special material, such as textured paste or gold leaf, can of course look different and less vivid in the art print. The canvases of the art prints contain a small amount of polyester and are therefore harder than "real" art canvases. However, the other finishes are very similar to the original.
All canvases have either an enclosed metal hanger (the art prints) or a picture wire attached by me (originals) so that the pictures can easily be hung directly on a nail on the wall.
The fine art prints on paper come unframed, as it is my experience that the taste for picture frames is very individual and they should match the interior. However, if you would like to receive your fine art paper print framed, please contact me instead of booking here via the store. Then I can give you the prices for already framed pictures and order them manually according to your wishes.
