The power of connection (mixed media oil painting)
The power lies in connection: This piece was inspired by mushrooms, which are partly connected underground with each other as well as with certain types of trees, forming a symbiotic relationship. They communicate with their environment and exchange essential information.
Recognize which connections strengthen you and allow you to be your true self—and consider the kind and quality of connection you want to have in your life. Like all works in my Shift series, this piece captures a brief moment of realization: Who am I really, and what do I want? It is also about the understanding that you should never again neglect yourself and your desires for the sake of others.
The artwork was created in multiple layers using texture paste, hot glue, as well as acrylic and oil paints.
