Insight – Shift (Mixed Media Oil Painting)

There are things that you already know as concepts and have cognitively grasped – but that you may only truly understand and „feel“ on a deeper level much later. Things you may have spoken about before, but couldn't quite grasp – for example, what trust means.

This painting from my series „Shift,“ which captures individual moments of realization, depicts the instant when an insight you previously held only as a vague concept in your mind shifts to a deeper level, and you suddenly embody it instead of just talking about it. The butterflies are a symbol of this because they have broken free from their cocoons—like an insight that had to mature and is now "ready.".

The artwork was created in multiple layers using hot glue, gold foil, acrylic, and oil paints.
