The greek goddess Artemis in a modern style on canvas

Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting, nature and the moon. Translated into modern terms, this can mean: she supports you in having clarity in your life and pursuing your goals. Traditionally, Artemis is accompanied by the power animal deer. I wanted to translate this ancient symbol into modern times and have therefore integrated the following into my picture:

I achieved the modern touch in this painting not only through the spray paint, but also by painting the skin tones in the lowest layers with neon colors. The stag and Artemis' bow and arrow are only hinted at as a drawing to emphasize the symbolic character of "hunting" (that it is not about hunting animals).

The picture is part of my series Mythologyin which I paint figures from ancient legends and myths in a modern setting. I do this deliberately because I want to remind you that there are superpowers in all of us and that the heroes, gods etc. are only a symbol of this. The old legends still live on - even in you! But we can interpret them in a modern way.

This painting is done in many layers with acrylics and oils.
