Shift your perspective (mixed media oil painting)

Everything is just a matter of perspective: When you look at something from a completely different perspective, your entire reality can change.

The best example: our memories of the past are constantly shifting — depending on the identity you’re viewing them from. From a different version of yourself, you tell your life story in a new way, and you even remember different things than you did a few years ago.

But here’s the truth: you can change your perspective at any moment. It doesn’t have to take years.

This piece, “Perspective” from my Shift series, represents exactly that.I used the same reindeer as a reference — but mirrored it, turned it in the opposite direction, and inverted the colors so it became blue.

Is it still the same reindeer? Yes.But in two completely different versions.And just like that, you get to choose which version of yourself you want to be.

This painting is done in many layers with structure paste, acrylics, oils and golden medium.
